Game specific details: Robert's second marriage is not game canon. Robert had a long-term kink and romantic relationship with Paul Newman that ended only when Paul died. Robert was completely devastated by that and honestly never expects to find a long-term male partner again. He and Paul switched and although Paul adored his wife Joanne Woodward, if they'd lived in a different time he and Robert would've come out and been a couple. The only place they could really be themselves was the Establishment, and they spent many hours there, together, over the years.
